Jury Verdicts and Settlements
Jane Doe v. John Doe ($$$Confidential Settlement $$$):
$795,000.00 Gross Recovery for client. Client was injured as a result of a car dealership’s failure to properly secure their premises. A theft of the vehicle occurred on the dealership after keys were left in the ignition as the vehicle was being prepped by the porters for delivery to a customer. The car thief subsequently crashed into a vehicle in which our client was a passenger causing severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures. Despite the car dealership denying the keys were left in the vehicle in violation of Florida Statute 316.1795, we were able to show the keys were left in the vehicle after extensive litigation, thus allowing us to facilitate the Plaintiff’s recovery.
John Doe V. ABC Corp:
$725,000.00 settlement for my client. My client and his original lawyer were initially offered just six thousand dollars ($6,000.00). The case was then referred to Erik Alexander Alvarez, PA by my Client’s original lawyer for us to file a lawsuit and prepare the case for trial. After hard fought litigation, and days before trial, the Defendant (one of the largest companies in the United States) offered my Client $725,000.00 to settle the case.
Jane Doe v. John Doe ($$$Confidential Settlement$$$):
$600,000.00 Recovery for Plaintiff. After a large insurance company refused to offer the Plaintiff any money, the case was referred to Erik Alvarez, to serve as litigation counsel. The Plaintiff suffered a lower back injury from a car accident, which required surgical intervention. Following nearly two years of litigation, Erik Alexander Alvarez, P.A., was able to recover a total of $600,000.00 for the Plaintiff.
Jane Doe v. John Doe ($$$ Confidential Settlement$$$):
$420,000.00 Recovery for Plaintiff. Car accident causing primarily lower back injuries requiring surgery. Defendant’s offered $150,000.00 prior to the filing of a formal lawsuit, based on the Defendant’s position that the accident involved a minor impact, and that Plaintiff’s injuries were pre-existing degenerative conditions not having been caused by the accident. However, following extensive litigation, Erik Alexander Alvarez, P.A., was able to recover $420,000.00 for the Plaintiff.
Rodriguez v. Harbor Hills Country Club, Ltd., et. al.:
$350,000.00 Recovery for Plaintiff. Lower back injury resulting in surgical intervention. After protracted litigation, we secured a $350,000.00 recovery to the Plaintiff, despite the fact that the defendant refused to offer the plaintiff any money prior to the filing of a formal lawsuit.
Javier and Jessica Guillen v Kyle K. Maupin:
$191,100.00 Jury Verdict for Plaintiffs: ($67,300.00 for Javier Guillen and $124,600.00 for Jessica Guillen) Plaintiffs both suffered neck and back herniations and bulging discs. Neither Plaintiff underwent any medical treatment beyond basic therapy. Pedro Mantilla v. Yexiray Corbillon and Yolanda Portilla:
$174,000.00 recovery on behalf of the Plaintiff.
Estate of Jose Martin by his named personal representative, Nancy Oruna vs. Guy Duquella:
$100,000.00 Gross Settlement: My client, Jose Martin, suffered neck and back herniations requiring surgery. The case was referred to Erik Alexander Alvarez, P.A. to file a lawsuit as the initial offer was thought to be inadequate. Unfortunately, during the litigation, Mr. Martin passed away from unrelated causes and the insurance company refused to offer Mr. Martin any compensation. After years of hard fought litigation, and just days before trial, Erik Alvarez was able to procure a settlement in the amount of the full insurance policy limits, $100,000.00, on behalf of Mr. Martin’s family.
Isern vs. Sluggers, Inc.:
$200,000.00 settlement for client after he tripped and dislocated his knee while swinging at a batting cage. The case was initially denied by the Defendant but, following extensive litigation, Erik Alvarez was able to secure a $200,000.00 gross recovery for his client.

Jane Doe v. John Doe ($$$ Confidential Settlement$$$):
$150,000.00 Gross Recovery for client after she tripped and fell on a hole cover on the sidewalk. The case was initially denied and the company refused to offer any money. The case was referred to Erik Alvarez by the initial lawyer and Erik Alvarez secured a $150,000.00 recovery for the client.
